Alcohol Abuse

November 5, 2007

As I practiced my pre-work morning ritual of eating cereal while surfing the net in nothing but my boxers…I read a great post from Guy. It got me thinking about all of the stupid (and awesome) stuff that guys tend to do to one another. The post reminded me of what is still one of my all time favorite pranks to pull on a buddy….

I’m afraid this is one Man Law I am going to have to refuse to follow.

Shades of Delicious

COLOURlovers is a website that follows color trends in our everyday life. Its a pretty cool concept, but like anything…gets better when you mix it with beer. They have broken down several premium beers, to show the different colors that help shape each delicious mug. I always like to admire the color of a good beer before the first sip, and this site makes it that much more interesting. Cheers!

“I See Okinawa”

Although I don’t care for the beer, the Bud Light “Real Men of Genius” commercials always crack me up. The rock front-man’s random interjections are always brilliant (see title of this post). I could sit here all day and listen to these.

The complete “Real Men of Genius” collection.

Pick 6

June 6, 2007

I’m not talking about the Virginia Lottery, I’m talking about Ye Old Spirit Shop off of 7th st here in Frederick. Let me start off by saying that this particular liquor store has one of the best selections of beer, wine, and liquor that you can find in this town. To top it off, they offer a “Mix and Match 6 Pack” promotion that allows you to create your own sampler pack of beer. You simply choose any six beers, taking one 12 ounce bottle of each. Once you have your six, they will take 10% off the price of each individual bottle. As an example, I have listed my custom six below (with links, for those who may not be familiar with some of the brands)…

Troegs Sunshine Pils
Black Dog (as they have started brewing locally in Frederick)
Victory’s Hop Devil
Dominion Winterbrew (I know its not winter, but the “made from vanilla beans” intrigued me)
Brewer’s Alley Pilsner

So go check ’em out (if you are in the area). Even if you aren’t a huge beer drinker, you can still adventure while staying close to your comfort zone.
